My primary area of expertise is human factors engineering, which is a multidisciplinary approach to the design of automated decision support that aids human cognition in complex settings. My research focuses on the intersection of macrocognition, informatics, and patient safety, such as identifying unintended consequences on cognition and collaboration from the introduction of a new technology in a complex setting.
