Associate Professor

Dr. Mills studies children's narration—the language of storytelling. She is interested in the social and cognitive correlates of narrative language in school-age children who are acquiring more than one dialect of American English. She and students in the Child Language Ability Laboratory are conducting a study examining how adults judge the quality of children’s narratives.
