I am interested in the influence of mass media on decision making about science and environmental issues.  My research centers around message design features (predominantly narrative persuasion) that can increase issue involvement and overcome motivated reasoning around ideologically contentious issues. My current research focuses primarily on exploring the effects the documentary or "edutainment" genre on risk perceptions and policy preferences.
