Hyunyi Cho (PhD, Michigan State University; MA, Michigan State University; BA, Ewha Women’s University) is a Professor in the School of Communication at the Ohio State University. Cho’s current research focuses on health communication and risk communication. Specific interests include message effects on diverse audiences, media effects on health and risk related beliefs and behaviors, and theoretical and methodological issues in the development, implementation, and evaluation of communication interventions for health promotion and risk prevention. By examining the roles of messages and the media in behavior change and social change processes, this research program seeks to inform risk reduction and health promotion efforts and to contribute to theoretical advances in communication research.
