This month we’re looking forward to a visit from Prof. George Loewenstein (Carnegie Mellon), who will be visiting on Friday September 23 at 2pm in Psychology 35 and speaking on the topic of “A Theory of Boredom and Flow”. There will be a short reception afterwards. Prof. Loewenstein helped to establish the fields of behavioral economics and neuroeconomics, and he has published influential research on countless topics at the intersection of psychology and economics. Fall Grant Competition As in past years, we will be holding our annual fall grant competition, with a deadline of October 17. Foods for Health Research Initiative We are planning a networking lunch with the Foods for Health group on October 7. Planning is still in progress, but email krajbich.1@osu.edu if you might be interested in attending. We’ll have more details in a couple of weeks. Also, the Food for Health Research Initiative is having their annual meeting on September 29 from 12:30-4:45pm in Pomerene Hall. Click here for details and click here to register.
