Dear Decision Sciences Collaborative,
Many thanks to all of you who joined us for our Sixth Annual DSC Spring Research Forum! Special thanks to Dean O'Kelly for kicking us off this year and to our four incredibly impressive faculty who gave four-minute elevator talks. Congratulations as well to our two award-winning graduate students who gave talks (Steph Smith from Psychology and Lei Jia from Marketing) and the many students and faculty who presented posters of their DSC-funded research. We will have pictures up sometime in the next week! DSC April Speaker - Dr. Muriel Niederle Our last event of the year is on Tuesday April 9. Muriel Niederle (Stanford University) will join us from 3:30-5pm in Psychology Building, Room 035 to give a talk entitled "A Gender Agenda: From the Lab to the Field to Policy." If you are interested in meeting with Dr. Niederle that day, please e-mail Ellen Peters right away. For more information and updates, please see our Events page. Pilot Grants to Launch Ideas and Careers We had a record number of grant proposals in this past submission cycle (proposals were due March 15)! Thanks for all of your interest! We are reviewing proposals now and will get back to you as soon as possible. October 15, 2019 is our next deadline for small grants for faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. As always, undergraduate small grants applications also are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Please be sure to read and follow the template instructions carefully. Decision Science-Related Opportunities Russel Sage Foundation The Russell Sage Foundation has an exciting new initiative on Decision Making and Human Behavior in Context that supports innovative research on decision making processes and human behavior in the contexts of work, race, ethnicity, immigration, and social, political and economic inequality in the U.S. They encourage applications by scholars in psychology, political science, sociology, and other social science fields who are pursuing questions consistent with the aims of the Foundation. This initiative complements RSF’s long-standing Behavioral Economics Program which continues to encourage the submission of proposals. The first LOI deadline will be May 23, 2019 at 2pmET/11am PT. Read more about the new initiative here and apply for funding here. Behavioral Science & Policy Association The annual conference of the Behavioral Science & Policy Association (BSPA) will be held on June 14, 2019 in New York City, NY. Attendees include leading behavioral scientists, policy makers, behavioral science consultants, private and public sector executives, and members of the media. If you know of other opportunities for DSC faculty and students, please let me know! |
Best Regards,
Ellen Peters, DSC Director
