Josh Miller (Bocconi University)
Josh Miller will discuss his work on the "hot hand fallacy". The original work on this effect was done by Gilovich, Vallone, and Tversky (1985). This misperception of randomness has been replicated and extended many times. With his coauthor, Adam Sanjurjo, Dr. Miller examines why belief in this fallacy may be a fallacy itself. Here are some relevant papers: Request: Please email peters.498@osu.edu if you think you will attend.
