Computational Approaches to Spatial Decision Making

Many decision problems involve spatial components and are often difficult to solve. Examples of these problems include finding locations for nature reserves and creating political districts. In this talk, I will discuss how some recent advances in computational science, such as evolutional algorithms, agent-based modeling, and high-performance computing, can be used to address these problems.
